EGGSTRAVAGANZA

EGGSTRAVAGANZA

Every year Advance purchase over 300 Easter Eggs for our valued clients, if you are one of those lucky people normally on the receiving end of a chocolaty treat then bad news….you aren’t getting one this year.

Before you all start rushing to your nearest supermarket to panic buy a sweet treat let us tell you what we are doing instead.

This year we’ve decided to do something different and spread a little joy to those who really need it.

After the heartbreak of losing the lovely Natalie Marsh from a terminal illness in 2018, we know just how much hospices like The Myton Hospice in Rugby and the staff that work there are appreciated. The hospice focuses on enhancing patient’s lives and wellbeing and giving them more quality time with their families and loved ones. When someone you care for suffers from a terminal illness, every day is precious and the Myton Hospice works hard to ensure those final moments are as good as they can be. Advance wanted to recognise the hard work done by all at the hospice and to bring a smile to the faces of the staff and residents and have chosen to donate the Easter Eggs here.

If you would like to support Myton then please visit their website where you can make a donation.

https://www.mytonhospice.org/

We also wanted to donate Easter Eggs within the local community and are supporting the Gilmorton  Easter Egg Trail. An event ran by the villagers and not your regular easter egg hunt obviously due to the lockdown restrictions. 34 coloured Easter Egg drawings have been located on the Gilmorton circumference walk, so when children are taking their daily outdoor exercise they can hunt for these. The drawings are all numbered and some contain letters. The letters create an anagram which spells out a three word phrase! This sounds very exciting and we can’t wait to give it a go! Thank you to all involved in organising this.

Now doesn’t that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside instead of wanting to dash to Tesco (other supermarkets are available)

Finally we wanted to wish all our clients, friends, family and colleagues a safe and Happy Easter.

Ross’s Road Trip

Ross’s Road Trip

Ross’s Road Trip

After a hectic summer

of teaching Driver Training Courses, Ross and his partner Tina embarked on a 2400 mile road trip through the Southern American states with an ultimate destination of the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Austin Texas, what an adventure!

The trip began in late October in Houston where a huge RV was hired and the journey began, first stop Baton Rouge, New Orleans where the heavy Southern American accent was difficult to understand! It was an overnight drive to Birmingham, Alabama then onto Nashville for a two night stopover, where alligator was on the menu and was a must to try! The music acts were amazing and great food was enjoyed throughout. There was enough time for a small diversion for a pilgrimage to Jack Daniels in Lynchburg.

The journey continued through Memphis, Tyler with a grand total of 168 churches in the town, on to Huntsville with scenic countryside driving. The RV was overtaken by an immense 18 wheeler, despite doing 75mph in a 70mph limit he shot past at astonishing speed! Several other ‘small’ towns were visited and we shared a drink with the locals en route to the Formula 1.

Austin Texas was the last destination on the 2400 mile journey, where the Formula 1 was amazing. The racing was excellent, the track was walked and it was the best viewing from around the track, far better than Silverstone or Monza, where everything is restricted. Best of all they love the Brits, oh that and the donuts, so good that two was a must! Finally back to Houston and the long flight home after the trip of a lifetime.

Advance 10th Year Anniversary Party

Advance 10th Year Anniversary Party

Advance 10th Year Anniversary Party

We Partied like it was 2009!

10 Years on from our MD Sheron setting up and taking the plunge during a recession to form ‘Advance’ it was time to party and celebrate 10 great years in business. We remembered and raised a glass to the very special and dear colleague Natalie Marsh, who was part of the company’s growth from the start and is very sadly missed.

Overstone Park in Northampton was our stunning venue, and what a lucky day with the weather…the sun was shining, and the rain stayed away. We launched the first ever Natalie Marsh Golf Cup Competition and our intrepid golfers played 9 holes, with some who have never swung a club before. Congratulation’s to Mark Toseland who won the overall cup and to Andy Swift who won the booby prize!

Guests enjoyed a delicious buffet, hog roast and tasty cupcakes and the drinks were flowing.

The celebrations continued with guests dancing the night away to the amazing bands, Room 10 and Natalies favourite, Empire, making it an incredible night.

We raised over £200 for our chosen charity- Cynthia Spencer, helped by Ross and Andy’s tuneful version of Elton John and Kiki Dee’s ‘Don’t Go Breaking My Heart’! An amazing amount for such a great cause.

We would like to thank all our colleagues, drivers, clients and business associates who came along to celebrate with us, for what has been a wonderful 10 years and we look forward to many more!
